Navenby & Cliff Villages Voluntary Car Service

Set up by the Armed Forces Community Association to support Armed Forces veterans, this scheme is now open to anyone who has problems with their mobility or poor access to public transport. DBS-checked voluntary drivers, insured through Lincoln County Council, will provide a pay-as-you-go, door-to-door transport service, waiting for you while you attend your appointment. Priority will be given to users needing transport for medical appointments, but bookings can be made for any purpose.

Who qualifies?

This service is designed for anyone who has problems with their mobility or difficulty with accessing public transport.

What can I use it for?

Although we prioritise medical appointments, transport can be booked for anything, such as visiting clubs, day centres or family, taking you to the train station or airport, or collecting prescriptions.

How it works

Bookings must be made at least 3 days in advance of your journey.

There is a booking fee of £5.00 per journey for a casual user, reduced to £2.00 per journey for members. A journey will be charged at £0.50 per mile from the driver’s home and back, via your home and the appointment.

The mileage will be calculated using Google Maps and the closest driver will always be tasked for your journey to minimise costs.

You will be notified of the total charge when booking your journey. Payment can be made in advance by bank transfer, or the driver can take cash on the day.

Car shares are possible with the charges being split between passengers.

We have a specialist vehicle equipped to transport passengers in wheelchairs.
